Long before I opened the door on our first day of business March 1, 2013, I created and implemented safety protocols that went above and beyond what the City of Austin Health Department required pertaining to sanitizing vessels and containers for refilling with beverages. Internally, we call our protocols the BEerSAFE program.

My concern for how we sanitize and handle growlers stems from a concern for public safety and health of our customers.
How we serve you is as important to us as the great beverages we serve you.
We still follow our BEerSAFE program to this day and have increased our diligence with even more internal safety precautions added. We are always happy to answer questions about how and why we do things at Growler Room.

There is a lot of uncertainty in our city, state and world and I want to be a leader and voice in these times and step forward to help get all of us through this whether that is by providing you with our services and products or just being here to lend an ear to talk about the state of things outside these walls.

We will get through this together and we are here for you as we have always been because of our care and love for our customers and our love and passion for the products and service we provide.

Being here for our customers in whatever capacity is the main reason I opened this place. The friendships, fellowship and bonds we make and have made at Growler Room are the most rewarding thing to us and the reason we come to work everyday.

Be safe everyone,

Dean Schlett
Growler Room

We are a small bar with 30 taps consisting of beer, cider, mead, cold brew coffee and ginger beer. There’s 2 of us that work here: Dean & Sydney. Growler Room has been described as a “place where everybody knows your name.”  We like to get to know you as a customer to better serve your beer needs and interests. We don’t have live music or tvs, that way if you want to talk and make new friends, or if you want to disappear from the world in a laid back casual setting, you can do that here as well. We do have NY Times crosswords, darts, board games and there’s usually a lively topic of conversation at the bar to engage in. We don’t have food, but you’re welcome to bring food or have something delivered. So, come see us and have a pint here or fill a growler to go!!
